BCG - Year 1 Semester 1

Finally reached the part that I wanted to write about for the whole day. I am not very experienced in writing blogs to begin with, let alone write something that can give good advice. Here goes nothing! Disclaimer: I am not a frequent lecture-goer. I tend to watch recorded online lectures instead and study at my own pace. So I will give inaccurate reviews about lectures. Overview Since it is my first semester, the timeslots are preallocated. [Note: Since I'm not like normal NBS students, my 2nd semester isn't preallocated and it's game on Star Wars unlike the rest of year 1 NBS students.]. I did successfully add-drop and changed stats tutorial timing. Otherwise, I will have 0 free weekdays and that is sad. Changing that timeslot to have half a day free every week was a game changer! Also, all my modules for this semester have final exams. So that is 7 exams. Oh, and 5 exams are within the span of 4 days I APPLAUD the thoughtfulness of the exam arrangement department

Life as a BCG student

I said I wanted to write about the Business and Computing (BCG) course with more details right? So here goes... (I hope I can subdivide my content properly) Why the hell did I register for BCG? That baffles me too. Frankly, I lacked ambition so I never had and still don't have a clear career path in mind. During my A levels period I was just thinking that I should be ok with either accountancy OR computer science. Since my aptitude for math is decent? I definitely didn't think about taking TWO degrees (I mean who would do that, pfft.) . Honestly, one degree would suffice to start yourself in the workforce, it's just work experience subsequently. (That's what I hear from seniors.) And my A level results weren't that ideal. AAB/C and C for GP. By right I would struggle to get into NBS Accountancy. So what happened is that I went to NTU Open House and visited the SCSE booth. I went to listen to an SCSE talk right before that and they mentioned taking minor in Busi

An introduction

I have no idea why I started this. I guess I was looking through the blog posts of some seniors (particularly those from NBS) talking about their experience with their modules in NBS. And I guessed I kinda wanted to do the same, but for my course. So far only saw 1 senior's blog who takes the same course as me and it's pretty dated. By the way, I am taking Business and Computing (more commonly known as BCG) in NTU. That is two degrees, and I have no idea why I decided to brave out and take it. My A level results weren't even that good but I YOLO-ed. Ok enough of digressing.  I entered NTU in AY 2017/18 (so if anyone happens to see this, take note of how outdated the stuffs here might be?). Just some things to note about BCG: The cohort size is small. 30+ is a good estimate? But I did make a few good friends in there. Basically you're under both SCSE and NBS. I realised I could talk way more about BCG hmm should I leave that for another post? Also, I'm in NT
