An introduction

I have no idea why I started this.

I guess I was looking through the blog posts of some seniors (particularly those from NBS) talking about their experience with their modules in NBS. And I guessed I kinda wanted to do the same, but for my course. So far only saw 1 senior's blog who takes the same course as me and it's pretty dated. By the way, I am taking Business and Computing (more commonly known as BCG) in NTU. That is two degrees, and I have no idea why I decided to brave out and take it. My A level results weren't even that good but I YOLO-ed. Ok enough of digressing.

I entered NTU in AY 2017/18 (so if anyone happens to see this, take note of how outdated the stuffs here might be?). Just some things to note about BCG: The cohort size is small. 30+ is a good estimate? But I did make a few good friends in there. Basically you're under both SCSE and NBS. I realised I could talk way more about BCG hmm should I leave that for another post?

Also, I'm in NTU Symphonic Band, playing the saxophone. I have been playing the saxophone since I was in secondary school so that's 7 years and counting. I won't claim to be a proficient player though. I just like playing the saxophone and also the band spirit so I just leaned towards band throughout. I wouldn't mind joining other clubs in the future to enhance myself personally though.

Let's not make this NTU propaganda
😂 some face-level personal things about myself:
1. I was born in 9th August 1998. That is National Day so basically people celebrate Singapore's birthday over mine and I am perfectly fine with that.
2. I am left-handed.
3. I am definitely a homebody. I pretty much won't go out unless people jio me out. And I lack social life so it's rare for people to jio me out actually.
4. I am a massive Kpop fan. I used to hate Kpop though but at some point of time it helped me through my very stressful period and here I am! I like quite a lot of girl groups (female fans for girl groups exist btw tyvm) (to name some: Twice, Red Velvet, Mamamoo, IOI pls reunite 😭 etc, even soloists like Chungha and Sunmi) but I guess I would call myself a hardcore stan of EXID 😝 I adore all of them so much that I refuse to choose a bias! Also 2NE1 is the first group that I liked so they have a special place in my heart.
5. On the other hand I don't stan a lot of boy groups in Kpop. This list is more exhaustive: Winner, Wanna One and recently I like Day6 (if an actual rock band counts). KARD too but they're a mixed group... But I should say that Ong Seongwoo from Wanna One is easily my ultimate bias! And probably 9.9/10 in terms of my ideal type 😊

I'll probably write a lot about my life in NTU here. Hopefully I can mix it up with stuffs outside NTU (which is limited). Maybe go way back to my O/A level days. Or talk about Kpop (so that I won't be spamming my Insta story). We will see~

BCG - Multidisplinary Project (MDP)

It's that time of the year, again?? Under normal circumstances, this would be my "Year 3 Sem 2" post. Which isn't very feasible due to corona-chan. I hope everyone is doing fine and staying healthy (physically and emotionally) during the "circuit breaker". If any future juniors years later find this, yes we were tiding through COVID-19 when this semester happened. As a result, I... can't even properly evaluate any modules for this semester. For so many reasons let me just list a few: - Lectures are not even lectures. I mean I never go down for lectures for starters, but there is zero form of substitution of live lectures (such as livestream. None of that.). Just took from AY 18/19 lectures. - Assessments? Just a mess. Actually I think it's a good place to address my school's measures but a quick TL;DR in this aspect: No gathering for finals -> cramped "week 13 quizzes" -> quizzes cancelled and no assessments due to government ...

Getting a driving license in Singapore~

I only added this image so that my blog preview would make sense. Imagine seeing the BBDC course outline (next picture) in the preview. Nani? Guess who got her driving license?!~~~ Ok there must've been so many blogs out there giving nice, concise details about how to get a driving license in Singapore. But I guess my approach here isn't to educate anyone. I just want to write down my own experience. After all, it's quite a milestone in a Singaporean kid's life. LMAO one telltale sign that I'm actually an adult fml... My decision to get a driving license And also my rationale to a few key decisions that I need to make before I start anything~ No, I did not immediately work towards getting a license once I turned 18. It was about 16 months before I decided to commit to getting a license. (What happened in the 16 months? A levels, 6 month temp office job, and trying to make sure I don't flop in uni before I dare to think about multitasking my studies w...

BCG - Year 3 Semester 1

Howdy I’m actually not dead, my friends! Hope everyone is doing fine 😊 I clearly have not updated this for… 7 months ish? That is exactly how detached I am from life. By the time this comes out, it better be before my holiday trip (no guarantees). If that actually happens, it means that I have not gotten my grades back and I will basically be harping how screwed I am. I’m starting to look into technical electives (planning to take cyber security spec and/or data science) so that’ll make an interesting post I guess. Also took a popular GERPE so you might wanna stick around~ With my rusty and untrained writing skills, here goes. (Memeful start with a video of Dreamcatcher’s SuA. Actually me after every paper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAtQklb6zUw ) * I can’t copy the thumbnail picture but an arbitrary cute SuA picture works too. Now just imagine her loud Leo side coming out. That’s the video above. * "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" - Kim Bora, 2k19 AB1501 – Mark...
