Getting a driving license in Singapore~

I only added this image so that my blog preview would make sense.
Imagine seeing the BBDC course outline (next picture) in the preview. Nani?

Guess who got her driving license?!~~~

Ok there must've been so many blogs out there giving nice, concise details about how to get a driving license in Singapore. But I guess my approach here isn't to educate anyone. I just want to write down my own experience. After all, it's quite a milestone in a Singaporean kid's life. LMAO one telltale sign that I'm actually an adult fml...

My decision to get a driving license
And also my rationale to a few key decisions that I need to make before I start anything~

No, I did not immediately work towards getting a license once I turned 18. It was about 16 months before I decided to commit to getting a license. (What happened in the 16 months? A levels, 6 month temp office job, and trying to make sure I don't flop in uni before I dare to think about multitasking my studies with driving.) The main reason as to why I wanted to get a license isn't really to be a regular driver or anything. (Car prices in Singapore are horrendous I honestly would rather bank on public transport any day. At least MRT breakdown is a pretty legit reason to be late and I would accept that tradeoff for taking public transport 😅) I'm the kind who wants to have it just in case I'm forced into a situation where I have to drive (like IDK, drunk af friends. I barely have friends let alone the drunk ones, but oh well. Or more likely, when my family needs to go to Malaysia to visit relatives. My dad isn't getting any younger lah 😅).

I started my journey on 9th December 2017 (I didn't realise that's exactly 4 months from my 19th birthday until I wrote it out ok anyway). I think my semester finals ended on that week and then I rushed down to register on Saturday. I had to pon my band practice on that day and I can remember that vividly because I surprisingly saw my band friend there and we just gave the "Oh you're ponning band too?" face 😂

I won't delve into details about the pros and cons of different choices (One reference site for y'all). I'll rather explain my rationale for my own decisions:

  • Manual or auto?
I've mentioned that I'm not planning to be a regular driver, and I have no intent to getting Class 4 and above (cuz if I wanted that, I would need Class 3 - Manual. Class 3A, auto, would not suffice). I think auto saloon cars are quite common in Singapore. Maybe the only caveat is some overseas countries not recognising the equivalent of 3A, but I doubt I'll really have opportunities to go overseas, let alone drive there. And also for the cost. By right, to learn auto, you don't need that many classes compared to manual. (But that's case-by-case basis lah. Some scrub learners like me may need more lessons. Would've been worse if I learn manual though 😂) I wouldn't say that the "difficulty level" is a reason for my choice though. Learning auto is still not all rosy, if we consider my flair for driving 😂.
  • School or private?
I could already foresee myself as a rabak driver so I wouldn't want to risk getting a rabak private instructor. Granted there are good private instructors out there (but I never really delved into private to begin with). I already knew I wanted to go for school. They do eat up a lot of your money but if they can teach more systemically and improve my odds of passing, of course I would go for school! Failing practical test every time is just $200+ gone, times the number of times that you fail.
But to make an analogy, school is like JC and private is like poly. You pass something standard and generic like the test syllabus for practical test (think of it as A level cert) but you still don't have the really useful skills to actually survive driving out there. On the other hand, the good private lessons can really make you learn how to drive in the Singaporean setting, lesser bubble wrap around you in that sense. It's like getting a diploma that can actually get you a job.
  • Which school (BBDC, CDC, SSDC)?
Obviously. The only one at the West. I didn't even bother comparing the passing rate across all 3 schools or even account for their difference in cost.

Regardless, to start off, you should prepare at least $100 (Nets, not cash) beforehand. Slightly below $100 needed for administration cost + eyesight test (obviously if you cannot see even when aided it's just no-go). And the rest can be used to immediately start booking your theory components.

The class structure (in BBDC)
Source: BBDC website
I shall try to walk y'all through the structure (but again, primarily centered on my own experience)...

Theory lessons T^T

I went to buy the theory books from Popular even before I registered as a BBDC student but you don't need to do that! And no, BBDC didn't give us the books either. *This is something quite recent when I started I think.* The theory books are available on TP website 😂. Zero dollars, zero barriers to entry. (BTT and FTT book from TP. You're welcome.) So that's about $20+ (I consider this hidden cost. It's not documented in my BBDC account) wasted. But since I like to highlight on the books anyway~

Onto the cost that is documented by BBDC~ You'll need to take 4 lessons (2 for BTT, 2 for FTT). To sum it up, those 4 lessons are money-grabbing. If you have read your theory books beforehand, you won't find any value-added to the lessons. BTW most of the lessons are just literally showing you that you'll die if you don't do this (and showing actual accidents). I understand that it's meant to be a stern warning since a fast moving metal is no joke, but get what I mean when I said that there isn't much value-added other than being this flashing warning light? But the instructors may inadvertently or intentionally drop some clues about some notable (I wouldn't say "commonly tested" since they have a question database and the questions you get is just random probability) questions. I think there was ONE instructor (Mr Ang) that is particularly lively teaching the dry contents (the other 3 instructors are just dead inside and can tell that they would rather be out there tekan-ing teaching the students actual driving) so I really salute him 😂

And then there is basic/final theory practice and evaluation. The practice isn't compulsory but it is very helpful for you to pass the respective evaluations! Since they use the same question database but you can see the correct answer for the practice sessions. I took one BTP and two FTP though. Just enough to complete almost every question in their database. And yea I passed the respective evaluations (BTE/FTE) in one go. Now it's time to book for BTT/FTT!

Please book your theory test IMMEDIATELY AFTER you pass your evaluations! Seriously! TP theory test only occurs during a certain period each month. It's not available every day. One unfortunate thing for me was that I passed my BTE on 29th December 2017, and my BTT was on 24th Jan 2018! Almost one month gap! Same thing happened for FTE -> FTT. The theory knowledge will be kinda rusty by then. But yea I just burned the midnight oil (like I always do in school) and also banked on my common sense to pass both tests on my first try~

Applying for PDL

This deserves a separate section because the manner that I applied for PDL differs greatly from my friends. Basically I couldn't bank on my experienced friends to help me out. So after I pass my BTT I asked my friend how she applied for PDL. (I mean sure I can read instructions just fine but I found it weird that they applied it directly from the Traffic Police (TP) office while I was told by TP that there is NO NEED to apply at TP office.) But yea for newer sheep like me out there, I think they have changed the rules from December 2017. Yknow, to like try to move everything to online woo technology~ You apply on their website. $25 by NETS or cashcard (online. Refer to side story 1.)

Some good news: Under this new system, PDL last for 2 years! Before that it's 6 months and you keep renewing right? This is a good change that I approve! I know for a fact that most of my uni friends definitely can't just chiong within 6 months because uni is not as chillax as y'all think ok? We have commitments too. And we're not even going to talk about the working population. They are even more time-tight than us T^T

And you're probably wondering: Wait then how do we show to the instructors that we have PDL when we don't have a paper form for PDL? Yep, you just take a screenshot of your PDL application on your phone and that suffices. Hey it saves paper so 😂 (BTW can I add a side story 2? Refer below again heheh.)

BTW those who are still learning driving right now and started before December 2017 (IDK by the time I'm writing this it's not probable just still plausible that there are people out there who started earlier than me but still haven't finished), it's still the paper form of PDL I think, until you renew your PDL (if necessary) I guess.

Side story 1: I recall that their system is really outdated and laggy. So laggy that the "more convenient" way of paying online makes you want to rage quit. I even gave up using BBDC's computer and pulled out my laptop to complete the transaction. Yea btw I had my laptop with me because I had to go to school and actually had class right after that hahah #sadunilife hope that explains my rage for a laggy transaction.

Side story 2: During one of my practical lessons, the instructor was basically trying to have an ice-breaker with me, his new student. Yea we were talking about the new online PDL thing. He said that last time, when his students who live in the West (Jurong, Lakeside in particular hahah IDK why) forgot their paper PDL, he'll have to legit drive them back home to get their PDL before resuming the lesson. Which is dumb and time-wasting but makes a good story 😂 So my instructor's inner thoughts were just "Bless the new system!"

Practical lessons!
Now the fun part!

Not exactly fun. But boi this is the eventful part in driving! Not just learning how to drive itself. Your experience with various instructors, trying (and maybe failing) to book lessons... OH BOI! Where do I start?

I got my PDL on 24th Jan. You think you can start your lessons immediately? OH NO! Guess what? The first available slot is on March. Because you basically won't see any slots within the next 2 months or so. BBDC is that popular! Good luck with that. Granted I could just observe for try-sell slots every day. But I thought it was pointless to just have 1 standalone lesson and then have my non-existent skills rot 'til March. But yea I just bulk book whatever lessons I can til mid-April (before my finals). About 10 lessons to begin with, twice a week, sometimes still have school before or after the lesson. And yea I did book more lessons after my finals as well obviously.

BTW BBDC will give their students a practical handbook. The handbook is largely useless when it comes to actually driving (like you would remember everything written in there), but reading it beforehand does help you to not be totally gone right from the get-go. Like at least you know what the fuck you're supposed to do today because they won't really go off-tangent from the syllabus. At least start to be lost af DURING and not before the lesson heh~

My practical handbook. Kinda yellowed already hahah.
I want to know who did the drawings though. It's so noob yet effective. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing.

For my auto lessons, usually one session can cover about 2 subparts. 3 for the nicer/wants to clear my syllabus asap instructors. Maybe only 1 for that single asshole picky instructor (LMAO I'll get to him later). Took me 20 proper lessons + 5 revision lessons (you can even have 0 revision lessons and YOLO but I'm paranoid and scrub and I felt like I need those extra lessons~). And my last 5 lessons have a fixed group surcharge (will get to that later~).

Ok and then I have to talk about my group and instructors right? My group is G8035, which is randomly assigned by the system. I asked my friends (who learned at BBDC) if they have any recommended instructors, and they agreed that most instructors there can't really go wrong, so just stick to what I have and try not to change abruptly at a critical time. I have to say that most of my instructors in this group are really really nice and good! Except for one. Let me call him Mr X from here on out.

Anyway I should give a shoutout to some of the instructors that I've gotten~ Thanks to Mr Wee, Mr Tang, Mr Toh (all 3 are really nice and patient teachers), Mr Tan (who moved to another group halfway through though T^T) and Mr Yeo (may be stricter and sometimes I catch no balls but 100 marks for unintentionally funny stories! I am ever ready to tell anyone these stories if anyone is interested. I'm just too lazy to type it out in this already long post hahah). And also 2 more instructors that I got for my last 2 lessons but IDK their names. Thanks for the last minute spurt. As for Mr X... I have the decency to keep his identity anonymous but I lack the discipline to not openly rage so yep (though I know very well it's rude to not respect instructors but...) . To me, it felt like it's 5 lessons too much to be under him. Cost of 5 lessons as good as wasted (and with fixed group surcharge later on as well?!). To sum up, it's a cycle of me going "Oh shit." when I realise it's him -> my nerves -> dealing with wonky af brakes (I get that not all brakes are equal but his car in particular has crappy brakes I actually have to put in 95% effort for it to start braking and... oh hard braking. Maybe my braking techniques are crappy but I've driven other cars in BBDC before seems like only that ONE convenient car likes to see me flop like Magikarp.) -> "You're not good at driving." *silence* -> making "controversial" comments (eg. lane discipline. I can confidently say that he wasn't telling me to go to the correct lane because guess what? I checked with 2 other instructors and I was right!)-> both parties trying to have a goodwill ending -> repeat. If my friends are learning driving in the future and somehow got this group, you can PM me and ask more about this instructor. But seriously the rest are solid!

Road to practical test
The other costly and fun part~

More things to say here. Deserves a separate section, before the real storytime comes in. But I still must get on with "the setup", all my preparations prior to my test before I dive right into my very own practical test story right?

I think I was close to finishing stage 3. And I decided "To hell with it. Let me book my practical test now." I was honestly expecting to get a slot in early July. Even my instructors agreed that early July is the more appropriate timing for me. So I went to click on the glorious "Practical test -> Booking" tab. Here we go! The first few slots I saw was end-June, most of them were in the early morning. I totally avoided those timings (Bukit Batok + early morning is a hot mess LMAO I know to avoid that at all cost). Then I saw one slot in the afternoon that came out of nowhere. 27th June, 1.45pm. I mean those slots right after lunch would be amazing but it's still better than the morning mess. I instinctively went to book that slot! It costs $242.72! The test itself is $33 but have to add warm-up and vehicle rental cost as well. And no you can't just happily cancel it and get refund like your practical lessons. So you would expect me to use my brain properly and really think twice before I book a slot right? Well guess what! Apparently I really overlooked one thing when I booked it. My STAR Wars (bidding for classes in uni) was on the same day! So I had to rush to bid for my mods and then go to BBDC. More on that later.

When you book your practical test timeslot, you still aren't 100% guaranteed to take the test on that day. Why did I say that? Basically you have to complete everything 14 days before the test. If not, no test (they'll automatically cancel) and no money back! Very important! For me, it means that I have to get everything done by 13th June. I told my instructors my test timing (since they'll definitely keep asking as I'm nearing the end of my course) and they acknowledged that it's a bit time tight. So don't try to be this time-rabak like me. Luckily, my no-commitment self has made it easier for me to complete my stuffs. No finals, basically uni having summer break now. I can afford to take lessons almost every weekday. And I managed to finish everything on time! Also partially because my instructor for my evaluation stage 5.01 (Mr Toh thanks!) just gave me a pass anyway when I technically did accumulate too much demerit points for the evaluations heh 😅

BTW you'll get these checklists sometimes. Definitely one for evaluations.
The rest depends on the instructors (some like to use this checklist every time, some just verbally tell you what's wrong).

It is at this point that I started to register for fixed group scheme (+ $3.21 per lesson). To summarise:

  • Why fixed-group scheme now?
- Don't have much revision lessons available nearer to my test (It's very hard to find a June slot when you're booking in June. Even when you need it.). So the trick is to get the try-sell slots (last minute slots available less than 2 days before the actual lesson). Booking try-sell slots may throw you to other group's instructors, which is not really what you need at such a late point in your learning process. So at least now I can book try-sell slots and still get my own group's instructors.
- But I don't really need the try-sell slots in my earlier lessons (when the urgency of practical test still hasn't hit you yet). For normal lessons, you will still get your own group's instructors (for sure). So no point paying the surcharge so early on.
- My own group's instructors are pretty good, as mentioned before~ No harm for that extra guarantee.
The only bad thing about my fixed group surcharge is the 10% probability of getting Mr X (and I really kena twice...) but yea my thrifty ass is willing to bear that trade-off for a higher chance to get the other better instructors anyway.
  • Why not fixed-instructor scheme?
- The extra cost is kinda steep. Fixed group cost is kinda steep itself already.
- Man reason: I actually prefer to have a few (not too much) instructors to give me their constructive criticisms (as long as they aren't contradicting one another), learn more from different pairs of eyes.

For my 5 remaining revision lessons, you don't really learn much. (You aren't supposed to learn new things ok? If you are bless you...) I feel like it's more of getting myself to have the right mindset. Like a placebo effect saying that I'm a capable driver. I don't actually need all 5 lessons to be honest. I mainly needed the very last one the day before my test. The 4 lessons before that (at regular intervals) is just a placebo to tell myself that my skills are not rusty.

One last thing for this section. I should share a valuable tip for those little sheep learning at BBDC. Y'all know that try-sell slots exists but may feel like you don't even see try-sell slots most of the time. Check so many times and still cmi. To have a higher probability (not 100% guaranteed no one is a psychic here) of finding try-sell slots: Only need to check two times a day. Early morning, and at night (after 9pm or so). Just think in the perspectives of a working person. When would they know their schedule for that day? Probably the night before or the start of that day right? Ahh~ This actually worked for me and that's how I got my most important last revision lesson just right before my practical test. Life-saving much.

Practical test
It's showtime!

Definitely a very hectic day! Starting off with my STAR Wars (bidding for classes) which didn't go well (but there's no need to discuss this right now)... I had to keep bidding for my classes while I'm on the MRT on my way to BBDC. My psych was quite out because of STAR Wars sian :( So not a very good start to my day. A consolation is that my mum accompanied me to BBDC though! (More like she's a hardworking working citizen that she actually needs to clear her leave so she basically found a good opportunity to take an off-day 😂) Best moral support! LMAO we reached quite early though. (my test warmup is only at 1.45pm technically. And we reached at 12pm. Even if we're having lunch there it's still early af.) And we can already register 30 minutes before the test. Test car #157 (will always remember that by heart wah so proud of myself after everything that I've gone through!)

So I had my warmup session really early. By early, I mean before the normal 1.20pm lessons resume. So I literally had the whole circuit to myself. Warmup session is still by a BBDC instructor so that's the last nice guy you'll see before the real thing starts. And yes I definitely got a chill instructor. It's raining (heavier than drizzling, but still not heavy enough to convince him that he shouldn't really be opening the window right now) but he still opened up the window to talk to his colleagues outside that's quite funny 😂 He managed to calm my nerves for the most part though. During the warmup, I was so nervous that I forgot to stop before the stop line (heng no other car pass by or it would be quite disastrous) and yea that's the part where he really had to tell me to calm tf down. After the warmup session, we just go upstairs and it's waiting time. My BBDC instructor was so vague in his instructions though, just ask me to sit and then leave. There are 2 waiting areas (one outside for those waiting to take the test, and one inside for those who had taken the test) and thanks to his instructions and my nerves, I almost went inside and he's like ??? *ahh paisei* I was too nervous to even take a toilet break sekali I got called while I was in the toilet or something and that was instant life regret T^T

BTW I think the TP tester you get is truly random. More like the testee that the tester gets is truly random. Because the BBDC warmup instructors would throw our IC and test slip inside this box and the TP tester just lucky draw out of that box. LMAO I heard from my friend that she had a Malay tester last time and it did not go well + during one lesson I saw this TP test car with a Malay tester inside. The testee was too nervous probably cuz of his imposing presence that her vertical parking salah yikes. So I was praying to not get that Malay tester. Luckily I got another tester! I wouldn't say that my tester is the scary type that I assumed. He seems quite lenient (considering how I fucked up my test. More on that later.) in penalising my dumbass but his poker face + no convo at all really has an imposing presence.

What was my driving condition like? Luckily, 2.30pm is indeed lower than average traffic. However, it was raining (LMAO refer to my warmup session). For the circuit portion only! Yea it's like after I left BBDC to go on the road, the rain just stopped (for me? 💁😊🌺). Actually tbh having your test in a rainy weather could be a blessing in disguise for people like me who drive quite slow. I say that because the rain is a legit excuse to not drive at a fast speed 😝. Even though the rain has stopped when I went to the road, the floor is still kinda wet and the general traffic is slower liao. I got test route... 3 I think. Ok I don't make the effort to remember test routes obviously (really no need to, the TP tester will give the directions accordingly). The "memorable" things in my test route is that it leads to Choa Chu Kang, doesn't have the infamous "Keep straight" (sign to move to centre lane because left lane will be turn left only) instruction (means I had to turn left) and still has a U-turn. Help me out friends tell me if I'm right if y'all even track these stuffs. So basically my test route can avoid that "Keep straight" lane change bs but I still have to handle post U-turn lane change. My tester did not tell me the test route number at all. Since some people might have tendencies to do unnecessary actions. For example, if someone got my test route (like they know the number) and they actually remember that it goes to Choa Chu Kang, there will be an idiot that will keep to the right lane (to turn right) without any instructions to do so. My circuit luck is slightly better. I did not have to do ramps (ramp + raining is the ultimate confirm fuck you up combi. Basically tyre and ramp friction is messed up cuz of the rain. The screeching brakes will tell you that you fucked up. I avoided that woo!) Also no emergency brake (Side story: There is this popular stretch where the tester will normally do emergency brake. So I mentally braced myself... a little too much. He moved a bit and I immediately almost braked. He was just trying to put his notebook down *facepalm* Could've harakiri-ed myself with that hard braking for a moment.)

Onto my actual test. I remember 2 very major fuck ups (and other minor ones that explains my barrage of 2 demerit points).
  1. Circuit - Parallel parking. Normally I'm quite ok with this (the markings are easier for me to see). So of course I had to make an unprecedented mistake or else it's not called a TP test (LMAO I realised a lot of people really make mistakes that they've never committed before. Something about TP's presence hahah.)! So when I start to turn left (reverse), I turned to the left WAY! TOO! MUCH! Way too slanted! If I turn any more to the left I'll actually bump into the kerb and... just gone. Clearly was too nervous that I overdid my safety checks and missed my marking that badly. I literally just uttered "Sir, can I restart my parallel parking?" and casually went to my first position again. Y'see, BBDC doesn't really reach corrective movement for parallel parking because it's not normal at all for people to fuck up to my extent. So my "corrective movement" was just frenzy forward left turning. I really thought there and then that I have failed the test and I'm just trying to sit through the rest of the test not killing anyone. My tester was nice! I think he considered what I did as corrective movement and close one eye :")
  2. On the road. For the most part, I was fine on the road. (BTW I can tell because my tester will actually take out his notebook to record my penalties and immediately put it down afterwards so no notebook out = no penalty). And then nearing the end of my test, the hectic CCK traffic + road works got the better of me. I was in the middle lane (which BTW was wrong lane discipline and I lost focus overthinking about it for a moment. Anyone realised that there's this part in CCK where the left lane before the traffic light is aligned with the middle lane after the traffic light for some reason? Even the car before me made that mistake and I followed him *dumbass facepalm* anyway this one isn't the most major error) which means that I should subsequently move to the left lane right? So I did tha... then I saw road works ahead that blocked the left lane that I just moved back into! So moving back to the centre lane again! There was a slow moving (in my own perception) lorry that I could overtake. Which I did at a precariously close range. And it was a terrible idea. Because it wasn't THAT slow to the TP, and also big vehicle. BAM! 8 marks gone for evasive action taken. (Though personally I think that the lorry didn't actually take any evasive action. He had to prepare to take one but didn't actually do it. But ok I'm still very rabak lah sorry!) That was the ONLY time my tester talked. Just to say "What are you trying to do?" *sigh*. At this point I just had the hopeless mindset, prepared to spend more money to book another test liao.
And so we're back to BBDC. Alight from the car, got my stuffs. LMAO I saw my mum's face and I just gave her the "Nah confirm cannot make it" face behind the tester's back. Back to the waiting room (this time INSIDE though). It didn't help that I see people who came in later than me and got their "Pass" results earlier than me. Gives me the mindset that I must've flopped so hard that my tester needs more time to record and print out my demerits etc. BTW I can observe the difference between passing and failing. One guy failed and the tester sat down and gave him a detailed breakdown of where he went wrong. The people who pass can just leave. I was expecting for the former to happen. And then also, I've heard that most people usually pass on their second try. At least most of my friends that I've asked, school or private. So I'm not expecting any better...

But guess what?

My test results. Hahah 18 demerit points is just a very rabak pass please.

I passed! On my first try! IDK how considering whatever tf I've done but... wow! My tester is still a man of little words. He just said "Congrats! You've passed." and then just left after handling me my results. Obviously I immediately went downstairs and tell my mum! LMAO she's also shookt ok she also didn't expect my scrub ass to pass actually 😂

After passing my test, still had to do some admin stuffs though. Took about 1.5 hours. Basically watch one last video, then go to TP office to register for license. And I also wasted time contemplating if I wanted to take the Driving Orientation Course (basically only after you pass. You learn to drive on expressways, multi-storey carpark and Orchard traffic.). At first had the intention to apply but I decided not to cuz I think my dad can probably teach me next time~

Summary of my timeline to get a driving license
I made the effort to do this out myself 😂

Cost
*drumrolls please*

$2186.00!

This is excluding miscellaneous cost like administration (applying for license etc.), transportation and food cost. These cost are solely reflected on BBDC's end (lessons and tests).

If you only consider practical lessons and practical test cost, I spent just slightly over $2000.
This is the lower end of the cost for learning driving! LMAO the average should be higher I think 😂 While I did take more lessons than needed (and fixed group surcharge) due to my paranoid nature, passing my practical test in my first try is already much better than the average who pass on 2nd try or so. That would save $200+ (to book another test) and the hypothetical extra lessons still needed after failing the test once.

To conclude, I should give a shoutout to everyone who has helped me in my journey! Thanks y'all!

The list of people that I wanna thank:
  • My parents
- My dad for fetching me to and fro BBDC whenever he can 😂
- My mum for taking a day off to give me moral support for my practical test.
  • My friends *just saying ah one of y'all wanted a shoutout so I have to shoutout to everyone else too LMAO you might be shookt if you see your name here but y'all definitely help me in one way or another and I will not discredit that* anyway here I go...
- Michelle~~ Definitely asked a lot of tips from you since you also went to BBDC to learn hahah forgive me for my occasional mafan-ness my friend 😂
- Gerald. Also got tips from you in a private student's perspective. And also being ever ready to hear me talk about my driving nonsense stories chronicles.
- My group of friends (Normally I would just say "Y'all know who you are." but I made the effort to thank my other friends individually so here we go - Dennis, Bryan, Wei Min, Joash). Even though only Dennis actually got license and is the only person I can legit ask tips from (Bryan too with your hard lesson learnt on scrubby private instructors). But thank the rest for also covering me (if I had to pon class, whether it's for driving lessons or not) and hearing my nonsense out too.
- Xin Hwee! Hahah happens that we were both learning at the same time (yours manual though hahah upz!) and coincidentally met you once at BBDC! Thanks for being really nice for me to talk to and also yknow both of us having learner driver woes T^T
- My band mates (indirectly) hahah. More like my section mates 😂 I've definitely ponned band for driving lessons before and my section mates can understand wah thanks y'all :')

  • My instructors (mentioned above)
  • The other BBDC staffs (especially the shuttle bus uncles! Tirelessly fetching the people to and fro. Yknow I don't normally go forth and thank people but somehow I will always thank the shuttle bus uncles because they deserve it!)
And with that, hoping the best for my driving days in the future *fingers crossed* Thank y'all for even surviving to this part of my long post.

Cheers everyone~

It's that time of the year, again?? Under normal circumstances, this would be my "Year 3 Sem 2" post. Which isn't very feasible due to corona-chan. I hope everyone is doing fine and staying healthy (physically and emotionally) during the "circuit breaker". If any future juniors years later find this, yes we were tiding through COVID-19 when this semester happened. As a result, I... can't even properly evaluate any modules for this semester. For so many reasons let me just list a few: - Lectures are not even lectures. I mean I never go down for lectures for starters, but there is zero form of substitution of live lectures (such as livestream. None of that.). Just took from AY 18/19 lectures. - Assessments? Just a mess. Actually I think it's a good place to address my school's measures but a quick TL;DR in this aspect: No gathering for finals -> cramped "week 13 quizzes" -> quizzes cancelled and no assessments due to government

BCG - Year 3 Semester 1

Howdy I’m actually not dead, my friends! Hope everyone is doing fine 😊 I clearly have not updated this for… 7 months ish? That is exactly how detached I am from life. By the time this comes out, it better be before my holiday trip (no guarantees). If that actually happens, it means that I have not gotten my grades back and I will basically be harping how screwed I am. I’m starting to look into technical electives (planning to take cyber security spec and/or data science) so that’ll make an interesting post I guess. Also took a popular GERPE so you might wanna stick around~ With my rusty and untrained writing skills, here goes. (Memeful start with a video of Dreamcatcher’s SuA. Actually me after every paper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAtQklb6zUw ) * I can’t copy the thumbnail picture but an arbitrary cute SuA picture works too. Now just imagine her loud Leo side coming out. That’s the video above. * "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" - Kim Bora, 2k19 AB1501 – Mark
